Goal Setting
The moment you put a deadline on your dream it becomes a goal - - Stephen Kellogg

Setting goals in your business is crucial if you want actual success.

There are amazing statistics about goal planning
A Harvard business study revealed:
-
83% of the population does not have goals
-
14% have a plan in mind, but are unwritten goals
-
3% have goals written down
The study went on to find that the 14% who have goals are 10 times more successful than those without goals.
The 3% with written goals are 3 times more successful than the 14% with unwritten goals.
WHERE TO START
The most important thing with setting goals is writing them down.
Write them in your planner, put them on the fridge, have them in your notepad on your phone so that you look at them daily, etc.
It's important to write them out to set them in action but you also need to be able to focus on them throughout your day so they need to be accessible to you.

Figuring out your goals
Using a SMART goal planning sheet is likely the best way to setting boundaries around each goal.
It will allow you to see your goals separately, decide when you want to achieve them, how to achieve them, etc.

UNDERSTAND YOUR WHY
It's important to understand why your goals are important and why you must reach them.
This isn't always an obvious answer, though, not at first.

There are 3 questions to help you figure it out:
-
Why are you here?
-
Why isn’t your alternative working for you?
-
Why do you want this to work?
As you can imagine, your answers may very well overlap and blend with each other depending on your situation.

Really spend time thinking about your answers. Even journal about them. A lot of personal development goes into running a successful business. We often have to take a hard look at our habits, our mindset, our perspective ... in order to get things aligned to where they need to be.

There's a reason why we feel so moved in listening to stories of other people's success. There's a reason why TED Talks are so popular around the world.
People hear stories and know that they're not alone.
This is so important in business.
Because another person's success is proof of your potential.
When we see another person achieve similar goals, it gives us hope that we can achieve them too. And we can. You can!

Find relatable, inspirational people to keep you positive
Setting goals requires constant pep talk from yourself. That isn't always easy but when you follow powerful business owners, when you listen to well educated people talk about their success, when you implement the things that have changed other people's lives, you will find all the things that you need to keep your positivity high and your focus strong.
